Shinichi “Nabeshin” Watanabe is a Japanese anime director known for his wild sense of humor, unmistakable style, and larger-than-life personality.
Nabeshin is best known for directing the cult-favorite comedy Excel Saga, as well as Puni Puni Poemy, Nerima Daikon Brothers, and Excel Saga. His work is famous for its fast-paced comedy, over-the-top energy, pop-culture parodies, and willingness to break just about every rule along the way.
Fans may also recognize Nabeshin from his memorable self-insert appearances complete with his signature afro and red jacket.
